The James Street Pavilion, a mixed-use development in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, is set to redefine the city’s architectural landscape. Situated on the former Bed Bath & Table site, the Pavilion spans a site area of 1,241 square metres, with a gross floor area of 3,445 square metres. The six-storey building, approximately 29.25 metres in height, will feature three elevators and 30 car parking spaces across two basement levels. The design includes five retail tenancies across the ground and basement levels, totalling 554 square metres, and 1,200 square metres of boutique office space. A central open-to-air laneway will connect surrounding retail spaces, creating a seamless flow between interior and exterior.

Koichi Takada’s design philosophy, known for integrating nature-inspired and human-centric elements, is evident in the Pavilion’s architecture. The building’s sculptural forms and lush greenery aim to complement James Street’s leafy, urban charm. A central architectural staircase will ascend through the building, framing views of the James Street precinct and enhancing the connection between different levels. The rooftop garden will provide tenants and visitors with elevated views of the city, offering a natural retreat above the urban streetscape.
