Located in Mountain View, California, this research centre was a collaborative effort between Heatherwick Studio and Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), marking Google’s first ground-up campus development. Spanning 42 acres adjacent to NASA’s Ames Research Center, the campus encompasses three buildings, including two office structures, a 1,000-person event centre, and 240 short-term accommodation units for employees. The design prioritises flexibility and collaboration, featuring open spaces that can be easily reconfigured to meet the evolving needs of its occupants. The campus is also on track to be the largest project certified by the International Living Future Institute (ILFI) under any of their programs, at any certification level.
