Assila HQ, a masterclass in architectural design by Peter Ruge Architekten, stands proudly in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The building covers a sprawling 12,230 square meters and is strategically located near the diplomatic quarter, enhancing its stature and accessibility.
The design philosophy of Assila HQ revolves around the integration of traditional architectural elements with advanced engineering solutions. The building’s layout incorporates an innovative mix of office spaces and social areas, arranged around a central courtyard. This courtyard is not only a source of natural light and ventilation but also serves as a communal gathering space, promoting interaction and openness within the corporate environment.
Sustainability and contextual architecture are at the core of Assila HQ’s design. The building features a façade system composed of locally sourced sandstone, which acts as a natural insulator and complements the desert landscape. Vertical louvers add a dynamic aesthetic to the exterior while providing essential shading, reducing the building's thermal footprint.
Internally, the office spaces are designed to foster productivity and creativity. The interiors, designed by Wilson Associates, feature high-end finishes and modern furnishings that reflect the building's overall aesthetic of understated elegance. State-of-the-art facilities including spacious conference rooms, a canteen, and flexible workspace solutions enhance the functional aspect of the building.
The external landscaping complements the architectural intent, with areas designated for native plants and shaded communal spaces that invite occupants to enjoy the outdoors, even in the harsh desert climate.
