Eero Saarinen
Eero Saarinen was a Finnish-born American architect and industrial designer whose work shaped mid twentieth century architecture. He was born in 1910 in Kirkkonummi, Finland and moved with his family to the United States as a child. Saarinen grew up around design and studied at Yale University before establishing his own practice, Eero Saarinen and Associates. Saarinen’s design approach blended modernist principles with expressive form and sculptural character. He believed buildings should respond to purpose while also creating memorable spatial experiences. His work often featured sweeping curves and innovative use of materials that conveyed a sense of optimism and forward-thinking design.
