Bosco Verticale, or "Vertical Forest," is an innovative residential complex located in the Porta Nuova district of Milan, Italy, designed by Stefano Boeri Architetti. Completed in 2014, the project comprises two towers, 80 meters and 112 meters tall. These towers host approximately 900 trees, 5,000 shrubs, and 11,000 perennials and covering plants, which together create the equivalent of 20,000 square meters of forest spread over the building's façades.

The Vertical Forest aims to integrate vegetation into urban architecture to enhance biodiversity and environmental quality. This unique design helps build a microclimate, filters dust particles, absorbs CO2, produces oxygen, and provides insulation against noise pollution and radiation. The vegetation also supports urban biodiversity, providing habitats for birds and insects. The idea is to create a symbiotic relationship between urban life and nature, transforming the urban landscape into a more sustainable and livable environment.

Stefano Boeri emphasized the project's environmental significance, noting that it represents a model for sustainable urban living, promoting the densification of nature in cities and offering an innovative approach to combating urban sprawl. The choice of plant species and their distribution on the façades were the result of extensive research and collaboration with botanists and ethologists.
